Caution: Contains Rant

its been a week and there's a new movie list.

Dr. Parnassus 7.5
valentines day 6
i hate valentines day 2
9 7.5
Andaz Apna Apna 7
antichrist 7
cold souls 6
creation 6
Motherhood 5
sweet and Lowdown 7
the princess and the frog 6.5
men who stare at goats 7.5 (brilliant plot)

list isn't as long as last weeks, makes me feel i am probably doing more with my time than wasting my eyes away at static flicker. I have started reading. i started with the moors last sigh (rushdie) but it was moving too slow, so i switched over to Notes on a Scandal (zoe heller). i saw the movie a few years ago (judi dench and the always beautiful cate blanchett playing the antagonist and the protagonist, respectively). its a fantastic story, with such different, but such strong women characters. zoe heller seems to have this very loquacious, and old school style but still very readable by the everyday man, and i find this madly appealing. Im not sure if one could canonize her or not, but i would love to be able to write like her, elegant and vociferous.

other than that, ive been at some art work. been scrapbooking all week. so much fun and so thraputic, and no im not twelve, just creative.

in more seirous tones,
german bakery got bombed. i find it scary how it didnt really surprise me. it frightened me, but it didnt whack me across the face. i wish it did. we live in a time of such global unrest, that, one could suppose, because no place is really safe anymore, our minds grow accostomed to the carnage, almost as if accepting that we must prepare ourselves to be silent victims of somebody elses madness.

I also detest the way im getting spammed with a million requests on facebook to be a fan or german bakery, r.i.p. german bakery, get terrorists out of india, and even a (get this shit) i hate pakistan group.
i get the whole sentiment, and i even joined one of the groups that commemorated german bakery.
but what is the need for five hundred of these communities? its a place to be vocal? well to me it just looks like a way for people to feel like they're proactive, when really, its just all passive. anyway, who am i to judge. its not like i go around being the good samaritan or banging on polititions doors.

but what the hell is with this 'i hate pakistan' group? are they for real! its like people are just stupid!
why would you want to instill such sentiments? sure, pakistan seems to be in alot of bad books recently, but to instill this idea of 'hate' and prejudice, and on facebook, that is just ridiculous. one might as well be antisemitic and wear hitlers swastika. i admit, im not big on politics, or govenrment issues, but it rattles at my bones. when you say you hate pakistan, what do you mean? do you mean you hate everysingle person who resides in pakistan? or do you just hate the leaders? or do you just hate the terrorists? what do you hate? why do you hate? most people dont even know. it rattles at my bones, it really does.

sigh.

other than that, also on facebook i was invited to join another community, "500,000 people join to reduce lil waynes prison sentence."
oh. come.on.
FIRSTLY. why would the law bend in favour of a fucking facebook community?
secondly, why should this dude get a minimized jail sentence? just because he's famous? well fuck that.
thirdly, STOP WITH THE DAMN COMMUNITIES, MAN!
facebook, schmacebook.

Anyhow!
I've been dying to go cycling on the beach. i passed by there this afternoon and it looks so crisp and warm and the water was blue, ships not too far, lining the horizon, yellow sun, blue skies with harmless bubble clouds.
It's decided, as soon as i get the go signal, im going cycling on the beach. i cant wait.

well, thats all for now.

bye.
