forests.

why did you come here, he asked, probing for an answer he wanted to hear. i just turned my face towards him and shrugged, like i had lost the battle. just for the cakes, i said. his eyes, one like a unhappy kid sulked, the other with glints of anger stared at me defiantly.

its just the way things are, you know. i said that.

and i said not a word more, but left after a nostalgic kiss on the cheek, lest we have to talk about the invisible elephant in the room.

i stood outside, my back leaning against the thick, old door. old black paint was peeling off and poked into my sweater. but with all the volume in my head, i felt nothing but sensation.

later i met the guy who finally helped me understand that there is no moral boundary, and my position of a woman will always be genetically somewhere lower than the man. he also told me that there was no love, just an innate need of security.

"sweet, silly. you must marry grand,  yo' dautah will end up marrying her fatha', and yo' son, he becomes his daddy."
