your smiling eyes are just a mirror for the sun.

i feel a little foolish for being optimistic about this year, it having begun with a very bad acid trip and three fractures in my ankle. but you know what i figure? i figure i got handed my share of bad luck for the year already. so now that thats done, i suppose i could be foolishly optimistic.

this is the year i finally graduate. BSc (Hons.) in Applied Psychology. i feel so professional already. also, i finally start on my dissertation. Furthermore i have made up my mind that i WILL find time to take driving lessons and get my lisence, if only to stop my father from chewing my ear off. and i will save money this year, instead of spending it on pretty little baubles everytime i feel sad. tch. thats just pathetic.
also that short little photography course. and maybe get re-familiar-ed with my piano.
Plus i Must, Must, Must, MUST pull the reins on my attention deficit self and work with a vengance.

resolution, resolutions?

i'd like to recount last year though. when i think about it, it doesnt seem like very much.

gokarna in jan, and tearful good byes later. the first half of the year then proceeded on without much excitement, except for this one night at ray and jams place where i ended up so drunk, i lost ALL self respect and had to have my baby brother lift me off my own regurgitation. one word: tequila.
June was the last month with Asghar, the only teacher who has had me fall of my chair, hysterical. i miss him, but he coudlnt teach statistics to save his life. I know this because i got a dissertation in a paper i should have failed in. not that im complaining.
i came back to india in June and July, and quite honestly it was all quite awkward and strange and the worst trip since i left.

V came to singapore in august. i loved having her there, and because of her i was reminded of how much fun singapore can be if i just got out of the library. and so after she left, i did, and made sure my friends did too.

in September, i broke up with Kaizad. it was sudden and quick. but not painless, essepcially not for him. just refer to older posts, i am tired of going on about that now.

October was the big 'family vacation' to New Zealand, which was beautiful and helped all of us feel more connected to each other. i think after all the years of threats and screams and lies and whatever else, this vacation was well deserved.

and then we found out Savvy had cancer which drove a stake right through me. i find myself, though, better able to deal, given time to prepare. but when we lost her, it didnt make a difference for how long i knew. she is gone. and it still hurts.

December was practical madness. rushing to finish two bloody hard assignments, getting randomly hooked up on blind dates, one a clapping chinese blad guy who works in a shampoo company, another a 30 year old smart banker who said "I play hard to get, thats just how i roll", and the third an indian singaporean who:
1. dissed Freddy Mercury for being gay (WHAT THE FUCK!?)
2. insisted on carrying my HANDBAG all the way to the train.

then every weekend was quite drunk. not as drunk as january though, but drunk enough anyhow. we danced alot, saw a U2 tribute band at Muddy Murphys, had one very surprisingly wild night at pump room, explored a different aspect of friendship, finally made it for the Zoukout, which was bloody amazing, also the second time seeing Armin Van Buuren perform.

back to India, back to goa, and finally for SUNBURN, three days of chaos and drugs and booze and dancing and complete utter FUN. Armin again, but this time with my three allies. we baked and loved, and danced and drank and lived for the day and for each other and for ourselves, threw our issues and egos away, enjoyed each other, enjoyed goa, enjoyed our little getaway.

and i return to where this started, bad acid trip and a broken ankle.
It wasnt all too bad, was it. I think im up for it again. Plaster and all.

I truly am foolishly optimistic about 2010.
Good things will happen.
im foolishly sure of that.

(:
