The Death of A Monster
To stand in the face of another’s death
Without tears, without a movement of emotion.
To stand there, almost relieved,
But regretful of all the evil things you did not say.
As life ceases to breathe,
The errors die with.
No feeling of remorse, just
A feeling of saccharine finality.
One must shame if not stirred
But still, I do not.
The fear disbands and leaves me,
It is after all,
The death of a monster.
Without tears, without a movement of emotion.
To stand there, almost relieved,
But regretful of all the evil things you did not say.
As life ceases to breathe,
The errors die with.
No feeling of remorse, just
A feeling of saccharine finality.
One must shame if not stirred
But still, I do not.
The fear disbands and leaves me,
It is after all,
The death of a monster.
